Such a warm person ❤️ I liked him so much. Still can't look at his image or movies without tearing up.
I share your feeling. I watched a documentary last night about his struggle with mental health illness. Heartbreaking. It's almost unbelievable how much I was able to connect and relate to his story. I used to be the funny man myself. The life of the party, as it were. I've known many people with mental health illnesses that were always very funny, outgoing, witty, spontaneous and with glowing personalities. That is, until they were in the comfort of their own home. I'll never forget an encounter I had in 2009 with a long time neighbor. At that time I was feeling more comfortable and talking about my depression and was trying to be as open-minded about it as possible. I told this neighbor about my struggles with mental health illness and his reaction was priceless. His words to me were.. "Get outta here. You don't have depression. You're always smiling and laughing every time I see you. You're just a little down, you'll be all right" he could not accept that I was severely depressed. All he saw were the smiles and laughter, he never saw past the act. Much like Robin Williams who was one of the funniest people, not many saw past his smile and laughter.

At one of my jobs a co worker friend said to me, “How can such a happy girl be so sad?”
Oh yeah, this is exactly what I mean. How is it possible that we can present as some of the most happiest people in the world yet have such a dark cloud follow us around all the time. That's one for the books
