Has anyone benefitted from TMS?

I have recently been approved to receive 30 days (followed by 6 tapering treatments) of transcranial magnetic stimulation. It is giving me some "hope" that something might help me. My current episode of major depressive disorder and anxiety has disabled my in so many ways.

Welcome to healthunlocked! I saw u just joined yesterday! I read your profile & we're kinda in the same proverbial boat. Im almost 48 & have suffered with depression/anxiety/ADHD for a lifetime without help. I wasnt formally diagnosed until my early 30s. I have had 7 surgeries in 5 1/2 yrs. My gallbladder was removed a yr ago today & I had a 2 level neck fusion at Cervical 4/5 & 5/6 Four months ago yesterday. My 1st 3 spine surgeries were oct 17 & 21, 2016 & oct 30 2017. My shoulder/rotator cuff surgeries were aug 2018 & aug 2019.

My ins did not cover TMS treatment or ketamine. It cost me $6300 out of pocket for my series of TMS & 2 ketamine infusions. If your ins is paying for this for you, I highly recommended committing to it to see if it gets you the relief you're desperate for. Its the only thing that has been remotely successful for me.

I went thru my 1st 36 session Theta Burst TMS series in feb-april of this year. It was 10 wks of treatment. The 1st 2 wks I did 2 ketamine infusions 1 wk apart. TMS was 6 wks of 5 appointments per wk & 2 wks of 3 appointments per wk of approx 15 min per appointment. I was in the worst episode of S.I. depression in my entire life. Ive been suffering with treatment resistant depression my whole life...along with anxiety & ADHD. This is the only treatment that has relieved my depression for any length of time. I am still doing very well after 4 months. I have made more progress with my therapist & emotional unpacking in this time than any other period in my looong mental health battle. Its a big commitment but the rewards are worth their weight in gold!!! I hope this treatment gives you the results ive experienced because it saved my life 100%. I would have had to go to in patient treatment at hospital if this didn't help me. There was no other options left. I pray it helps you find some relief cuz I know exactly how desperate you are feeling right now! Please let me know what happens. I had 3 rounds of TMS over the course of just over 2-1/2 years each one successful. So glad my therapist recommended it to me! After decades of meds I became treatment resistant to them. My treatment was 5x/week for 7 weeks and was covered by my Medicare.Hope you have success with it!! Please keep us posted!
