Health Anxiety

I recently got into a new relationship and have begun to develop really bad health anxiety around STD’s. I haven’t had sex in 4 years but everyday I wake up thinking I have a new STD that I will give to my new partner which will make him leave me. I am obsessed with checking to see and I wake up thinking today is going to be the day I have gential warts or I’m going to pass out because I have aids. It’s ruining my life and making me sick. Every itch or burn or tingle I have I freak. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through or is going through something similar and what they did/do to cope.

Sorry to hear you have this. But worry about STD's isn't a crazy thing. Better to not let it get in your way so much though. I don't know about where you live and the fascilities there, but an idea to go to a doctor or some STD clinic to get yourself fully tested? The best way to ease your mind.

I agree, just go get fully tested so you can put your mind at ease. I know condoms don’t protect against everything but it protects against most, just make sure you two use a condom.
