I am homeschooling this year and I am constantly feeling so much anxiety behind teaching my children. Im so scared that I'm going to mess my kids up. We can't really afford a crazy expensive program for a full curriculum. So I've spent so many hours trying to build my own for them. I constantly feel guilty..

Hi,

My kids are grown now, but there must be millions of parents out there that feel just like you do. Are you planning to join a home-schooling group of some sort to share ideas? I feel like as long you do your best, respect your kids' individual learning styles and manage everything with love, you can't go wrong.

Try not to set unrealistic expectations for yourself and the kids, and be creative in the ways you teach. One thing is for sure -- no two children learn in exactly the same way, or at the same speed. Fortunately, nobody knows your students better than you! Be kind to yourself and you'll do great.

Best wishes from an experienced mom.

I really appreciate it! I've joined local groups but everyone's pretty distant or they really only chat about books and learning programs. Thank you your very kind I need to remind myself that I guess we never take our own advice well! Thank you ❤️

Thank you for reaching out and sharing. We are always too hard on ourselves. I bet you are doing an amazing job homeschooling your children. It sounds like you are working really hard to getting the materials you need to teach them. There are several homeschooling support groups so I hope you can find one locally to support you. The number one thing is try to stop feeling guilty. You have nothing to feel guilty about. You are spending quality time with your children as you better their knowledge and yours. Too often as moms, we set unrealistic expectations for ourselves and others and that causes us to feel bad about ourselves. The fact is you are doing an awesome job and encourage yourself each day that you are. Here is an article you might find encouraging about homeschooling (bit.ly/32T5HqY). I will be praying for you. Remind yourself everyday you are doing a great job. As our children learn we learn and we become an example to them. Hugs and God Bless

Thank you so much for your kind words. I needed them I'm usually the glass is half full kind of person. I've just felt unlike myself lately. That article honestly made me feel like I'm so worried about the wrong things. I need to reevaluate my focus for sure! Thank you ❤️

I'm sorry for such a late response I'm trying my best! I just feel nothing like my self but I know I've got a hormonal imbalance. So I'm trying to take it till I make it. We moved to a new state in September and it's been hard on us all we ( me and my kids) don't know anyone. It's been hard to make friends and to feel normal..

When I left school I trained as a Youth and Community Leader on top of my trade. I was expected to be able to take classes and Instruct various subjects.

We on occasions took on additional learning classes for children who were falling behind, it was so rewarding. That was near on fifty years ago or so and I was still very young myself. I enjoyed every second of it In fact it even helped me in my late education. I was also A road safety, cycling instructor and I loved taking classes and working with the kids in the playground with their bikes. We always worked in pairs, and it kept me busy on weekends/evenings

I live in the UK and although it is many decades ago I am still looking at Courses material for various years of child examination papers to see how education has changed. If I remember even on Amazon you can get these course materials. Even looking on the web you may be able to find course information and lesson content.

Try not to worry, I would imagine education at home can be just as good and sometimes even better at home
