That's a big one. I did separate from parents and siblings. It helps but I am full of guilt for my daughter who asks about them and their children. Not sure it's right or not to withhold them from her but I want to keep her safe and away from the lies and cover ups and possible abuse.

We are in the same boat my friend. My kids have to go without seeing their cousins. It’s truly sad. I know other people who’s family is so far away and they long and desire to be closer to their families. And then I look at my situation and think wow I feel guilty for cutting them off and maybe I am taking something grand for granted, but in all honesty I am at peace lately. Yes, I feel lonely, but it’s better this way.
I agree. The guilt is hard. My dad died last May and my daughter didn't even know him. He wasn't the bad one even but I had to cut off the whole bunch many years ago because we are at odds over the truth. I acknowledge and treat the abuse but others deny it, except to me, and that is not acceptable.
