Tips for lung pain.

I was diagnosed a year ago with multiple bilateral pulmonary embolisms after having covid (link unable to be proven). I’m on apixaban and was getting better. Then I got covid a second time. CT scans show the clots have not dissolved, but got no worse thankfully.

But now I am left with such lung pain - a raw soreness - that gets really bad if I breathe cold air, drink cold drinks or talk for very long.

I’d really appreciate any tips others might have to ease the soreness. I take paracetamol, wear scarves, cover my mouth, drink warm drinks, use a warm pillow and try not to talk for very long, or to go out if it’s cold. But nothing is helping.

I’m a bright, positive person, and we would appreciate any upbeat answers.

Thanks.

I wish I could help you. The lung pain is probably due to Covid rather than the clots, although they don't help. It might be worth asking your haematology team if they have any advice.

Thanks for the support mrsredboots. : ) much appreciated. I don’t have a haematology team, though. Should I have one? I Just have a GP and when it’s bad they send me to the Emergency Dept. Waiting lists are years long where I live maybe that’s why. I just get on with dealing with it myself. : )

Were you not referred to a haematologist after your original clots? I know I was - but then, different areas of the country are different. Have a word with your GP, though, as they may well be able to suggest something to help you.

Thank you. I will do that. I see yours are marked ‘unprovoked’ too. They come as a bit of a shock, don’t they! I hope that yours get better and you breathe easy once more. : )
