Pulmonary embolism

I have been losing weight on xarelto (1 week on 15mg 2x day) and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

The M.D. assumes the clot and subsequent PE came from a long car ride . However, with the weight loss I worry about cancer.

Does the CT Scan with contrast I had to diagnose the PE test for cancer as well?

Yes I have also lost weight on xarelto. Three months since my massive PE. I put it down to the body "recovering" from the insult as I also had/have right side heart strain. Also on a beta blocker and blood pressure med.

I wish I had lost weight! Alas, rather the opposite - I have to start exercising again, even if only a 20-minute walk every other day....

I started losing weight before the clotting, so I too am fearful of this but have only been met with chuckles and "no, you don't have cancer" any time I have asked. There are many cancers that can go undetected for years, even with blood tests, so I don't think it's ever good to just ignore pertinent symptoms. I have a thorough exam at National Jewish next month, so I will be confident with whatever they do or don't find as they don't leave any stones unturned. A CT scan COULD detect cancer if it was in your lungs, but it wouldn't detect a blood cancer or a cancer that was below your ribcage or above it. Or any skin cancers. If you have suspicions, don't let it go and push for answers. I don't believe it is normal to lose weight on xarelto from what I have researched...

How are u now???

Are you on fruosimide too? That is for fluid retention and makes you lose weight. The two usually come together and will cause weight loss
