I had asked for advice re: tattoos while on Eliquis. I went ahead and had a small text one done on my forearm. I found a tattoo guy who had experience with people on blood thinners. He knew I was super anxious, so he entertained me by being overly cautious. He even traced my veins with a marker and placed the tattoo between them, even though he told me there would be no danger of piercing them. I didn't even have a drop of blood during the tattoo, and a month later, it has healed perfectly

Tattoo Update
Thanks for this Daneball, my son is wanting a tattoo, but we were not sure if it could happen and his consultant at the time was not used to younger patients so wasn’t really helpful when asked and I didn’t want his hopes raised if it would def not be allowed.
he's on anti coagulants?
Yep, was on Apixaban, but now on warfarin after a second clot and his weight, as he played rugby is huge and was just at the weight threshold for apixaban.
He broke his knee and severed the muscles and got his first clot which was thought to be from the op, but the second one appeared so now, at last they are testing why.
Very sorry to hear your son has to deal with that. Has he been checked for Factor V Leiden?
He was in a pretty bad place at first as he had hoped to get back to playing rugby, but he was told he’d be on some form of anti coags for life, so his life plans have changed a bit, but he’s getting there.
Nope, we have just got a new consultant, just over a year later and she seems really good and actually asked him questions and ran tests, the first one was really bad, but it’s poss just because Paddy is so young and he had no experience with anyone his age before (17). He’s back on the 22 so I will ask her then, and am away to check what that is, so thank you again!
Well done you. I would love one but my pacemaker prohibits that. You had a brilliant technician and I’m really jealous.
