Eleqius withdrawal side effects

hi all,

I had an ablation over 2.5 months ago. So far so good on the AFIB front, with no episodes since.

However, i have been suffering from a multitude of symptoms since then: cough, chest pain, rib pain, sore throat, problems swallowing, dryness, wheezing ,fatigue, stomach pain, just strange all over...I went to a gastro who did an Endoscopy and saw nothing (however, I was on Nexium at that time). Went 3 times to a Lungdoctor who initially diagnosed me with a Bronchitis but told me this week that i am all clear. So after excluding gastro-related problems, and the bronchitis being gone, I am left with thinking that it is all a reaction to Eleqius.

So I decided to stop the Eleqius a few days ago, slowly reducing my amount. And 4 days later, I feel worse than before, with incredible stomach issues and burning in chest and throat.

Does anyone have experience with anything similar? Can such symptoms while taking and upon withrawal of the drug be indeed caused by Eleqius?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Best,

Eric

Can't really help but I have been on Eliquis for a couple of months - a switch from Riveraxaban because of side effects. The only side effect I have now is pain in shoulders, neck and arms, I can put up with this although it does interfere with my golf. It is probably rheumatic symptoms. Apixaban does seem remarkably free of problems

Hi Yume, I can see that you posted this a little while ago so hopefully you are feeling better now and all is resolved.

I have been on Eliquis/Apixaban for approx 4 weeks and i think i've been on a higher dose than i should have been, however i have been experiencing, tight throat and chest, burning in throat and chest, wheezing, and what feels similar to a sore throat, but isn't. It feels a bit like i've got a lump in my throat. Breathing is strained and i've been struggling with activities i'd normally do easily. I'm 40, fit and healthy and very active. I suspect that my symptoms may be a side effect of the medication and especially since i've been put on a higher dose for longer than i should have. Im reducing my dose until i see anticoag clinic in a week. Interested to know how you got on?
