Hi. Ive been on pradaxa since april (for life) - after unprovoked bilateral PEs. Few side effects other than a little indigestion. No bans on food or drink. Yes there is an antidote, its Praxbind. Im happy with Pradaxa.

I’ve been on it for almost 4 years (in persistent AF). No side effects but best not to take on an empty stomach and to eat a couple of mouthfuls right after taking to ensure capsule gets pushed down through oesophagus before coating dissolves - which is what creates the indigestion sensation

I've been taking it following AF and cardioversion since it was released for this condition several years ago and have no side effects at all. I understand that GPs are reluctant to prescribe it now due to cost and steer people towards Warfarin. The antidote is Praxbind.
