Do you have atrial fibrillation? Have you been prescribed aspirin to help prevent a stroke, or are you having no treatment at all?
ACE has launched new campaign AF180 to raise awareness that if you have atrial fibrillation (AF) and are not receiving any treatment to help prevent a stroke or if you have been prescribed aspirin to help prevent an AF-related stroke then you should have a conversation with your doctor.
Over two years ago The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) said that aspirin was no longer recommended, on its own, to help prevent strokes in AF and that people with AF should talk to their doctor about being prescribed an anticoagulant. You can find out more at af180.co.uk
If you have any questions please let us know and let us know how you get on if you have that conversation with your doctor.
