Sorry you need pain management :(

My mum (AMN sufferer) had that kind of implant put in place. The surgery was fairly quick and uncomplicated but sadly didn’t bring her any relief. Said so, while she was in hospital, I had the chance to speak to other patients and people that had the implant put in place in the past. The majority was happy with it, as in, the pain hadn’t gone completely but reduced to a manageable stage. Best of luck with your decision and pls do let us know how it goes.

thank you for telling me about your mum. I’m sorry it didn’t work for her. I’m trying to get as much information before I go to appointment, and make a list of pros and cons.

Thanks again

A friend, who was in a lot of pain, had one fitted but it only reduced the pain slightly. I have seen people mention that they sometimes help and sometimes don't.

I had one implanted for a few months. It didn't help enough with neuropathic pain to make it worth having, and ultimately, it created additional pain in the area around the battery pack. I had it explanted a few years ago.

Nothing touches my neuropathic pain, incidentally. I've tried every classification of medication, to no avail. Now I just live with it, as best as I can. It can be pretty miserable. I deeply sympathize with you.

I’m sorry you can’t find any relief!

Thank you

I need to rephrase part of my post….. the implant would be to help back pain and sciatic nerve pain. Thanks for any additional information.
