My mother is a carrier of ALD and she is starting to experience numbness in her left leg, she is worried about it being the start of parilization. Is there any wemon out there with the same symptoms that could give us some advice on the subject?
Thanks,
Gary

Your mother's feeling in her leg could be related to the fact that she is a carrier of the AMN gene. Or it could have nothing to do with AMN. But you will only know by getting her to visit a specialist. Can you arrange for her to do that - perhaps visit your own consultant?
I would suggest that the most important thing is to choose the clinician you trust the most and whose advice and opinions you respect and who is going to take your mother's feelings and symptoms seriously. Maybe they are all good in this respect? If the neurologist fits this profile then perhaps they would be the best one.
