A question about cod liver oil.

I have for many years taken one cod liver oil capsule per day hoping that it may help keep my joints working better. The doctors I have seen are all happy with this, even though some may not be convinced that there is much benefit.

As it is a fatty acid I wonder whether it may increase the very long chain fatty acids associated with AMN.

Has anyone else got thoughts on cod liver oil?

Geoff

Hi Geoff,

Have a look at this it says Fish oils lower Triglycerides:

I personally think they are good fats, Omega 3 EPA and DHA.

All the best

Hi Geoff

I read an article that a daily dose of cod liver oil & low dose aspirin were helping some MS patients. So, not getting any benefit from Baclofen nor Quinine, I started with this and I find that it helps me more than the drugs did. My spasms are much improved and I can get to sleep at night.

I am shortly to see my specialist and will discuss it with her.

All the best

Hi Steve and Malcolm,

Thanks for your helpful replies. I will certainly carry on taking cod liver oil on the basis that it may be helpful and shouldn't cause any problems.

Best regards,

Geoff
