I was diagnosed with alopecia areata after a bald circle on the back of my head last September. It ended up about the size of my hand.
It's started to grow back white and now turning brown. As I exi.
However the rest of my hair, the original hair that I didn't loose, is turning White, a kind of bright white. This goes in stripes from root to tip . Even my grey is turning White.
Should I be concerned? Auto immune?
Thanks

That's interesting. But I wonder if these were actually small balds spots you didn't know you had that are now growing in. When I got my first spot I thought that was all there was. But I started looking around and found several small (coin size) spots.
My 46 year old daughter was diagnosed with alopecia areata in 2020 or 2021 and she noticed that she got a lot of very white hair too, which she didn't have before the bald patches started appearing Thankfully, most of her bald patches have gone now and she no longer feels the need to wear a cap all the time - but the white grey problem is still there and she dyes her hair to cover that up.
