Hair loss and gabapentin

Hi all, It seems like my hair is falling out. I've been taking gabapentin for MS for many years and I was wondering if anyone here experienced hair loss while taking gabapentin. If so, can any medicine substitute for it? Any and all remarks welcome. Thank you in advance.

Yes- happened to me. See my post in RLS community.

Lost about 1/5 of my hair.

Switching to pregabalin helped a little and taking B12, ferrous bisglycinate and folic acid.

It’s a rare side effect but so many people are mentioning it that it’s best to report as a side effect via the Yellow card scheme

Hi,

I’ve been taking gabapentin for about 2 years now. When I found out I had alopecia areata I did think about gabapentin but there was hardly anything online so I put it off. Now that I’ve seen this post I’m starting to think it actually might be that. Have you now stopped taking it? Did anything change?
