I have traction alopecia on my temples and fully bald on top of my head (include a picture to explain) so a little bit of background. I have had this problem as far as I can remember. I grew up in a Sikh family so my hairs were very long and tied in a turban which I think caused alopecia. Anyway, I got my hairs cut when I was 12 but still, it has been over 10 years and it has really affected my confidence I normally do a comb-over or wear a cap so I would appreciate if anyone got any tips? I am too afraid to go to GP as I am very embarrassed

Hello from Charlotte, USA! Please consider shaving bald. It's trending among young men, and darker skinned men always look beautiful with a bald cut. Try it!! Good Luck!!
Hello Bawrai. I think this is what I have! I didn’t realise there was such a thing but I have been reading up about traction alopecia and, like you I have tied my hair up for years so suspect this is what I have. I am not good at hair styling and have always felt it is easier to just tie up my long hair and put it up on my head just as you do. I did not realise this could cause damage. I don’t think there is much that can be done except change your hairstyle or in your case shave it off and look cool! I have got a book called “Regrowing Hair Naturally” by Vera Peiffer (from library) and it recommends vitamins, minerals etc which might help. You can also get your hair clippings tested through her and it will show if you are deficient in anything.
