afib and rheumatoid arthritis

I was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation almost 12 years ago. It’s still paroxysmal thankfully and I always back into rhythm after a few hours. I have afib mostly if I’m not well - Covid etc- and some unexplained bouts as well but I can go many months with no problems.

My GP is convinced I have rheumatoid arthritis now and I go to the rheumatology for further tests and diagnosis next week. It’s been horrible since last October but I won’t go into detail except to say I know I have something badly wrong with my body now and use codeine every day to just get through the days and nights.

I wondered if anyone has RA and afib and can offer advice, knowledge or support on the ramifications of having both conditions.

thanks

Other than I think they can both be hormonally related in post menopausal women ( and don't know if that includes you), not sure I can add much. HRT helped the RA, and still trying to get hormones all balanced to see if helps Afib but jury still out.
