Sitting and lying irregular heart beat

Hello all, thought I’d get your thoughts on my latest interesting AFib occurrences. I haven’t had a high heart rate since January, however have had some flutters, but have controlled them with some yoga breathing. Now as of the last week or so, ever time I sit or lay down, I get irregular heart beats 2 quick beats, 1 normal etc, as soon as I stand up they go back to normal, feel great other then that just annoying. I’m still on the list for PFA, looking forward to that day.

Thanks your thoughts

Try 3 pillows when sleeping.

Change in posture will often cause this in some people, especially if you have spinal issues. Sleeping with head of the bed raised may help. There are a variety of possible causes which you may want to research.

i added castor/risers to the legs of my bed to give me about 10cm rise at the bedhead Managed to lose the humps and bumps. The breathing through the nose also helped maybe start the yoga breathing before you sit?

When you sit or lie down, your heart rate naturally slows some. So you may have longer than usual pauses between beats, and an occasional extra-systolic beat as your heart adjusts.

Hello,

Thank you for your post. I am pleased to hear that yoga breathing has been helping you control the flutters as relaxation techniques can have a positive impact on AF symptoms.

It may be helpful to start keeping a diary of each time they happen, just so you are able to keep track and identify potential triggers or causes.

Perhaps it would be helpful to book an appointment with your doctor or cardiology team? Especially whilst awaiting the Pulsed Field Ablation. They will be able to advise you personally as they have full access to your medical records.
