Allergic reaction and antihistamine

I am currently in Cyprus helping to look after my daughter who has had an operation and now in my third week here and have broken out in an itchy skin rash on my lower back. I am taking all the usual precautions such as washing bedding and clothes with my usual powders etc and trying to keep on top of hoovering (2 dogs and five cats) but I can see I might end up needing an antihistamine tablet. Can someone let me know which one is safe to use with Afib please or what ingredient in these tablets is the villain to be avoided as any tablets bought out here will be in Greek no doubt so I will need to inform the pharmacist about what I can't take. I am currently taking CCB Half Securon, Rivaroxaban and Rosuvastatin. Many thanks for any input and no it's not nice and warm here just now, we even had snow flurries a few days ago, have never been so cold and I live in north of Scotland usually 🤷❄️

Hello

I appreciate this is a difficult situation, Having researched antihistamines, many ingredients can vary and all recommend you should check with a pharmacist as some highlight a warning if taking anticoagulants or BP medications? I understand it is difficult with the language barrier, but do try to seek help and support from an interpreter if necessary. I have attached a link to the NHS website re: antihistamines nhs.uk/conditions/antihista...

I hope the situation is resolved shortly.

Kind regards

My GP has just prescribed the antihistamine drug Loratadine for me. She has checked it out while I was in the surgery with her as I am ultra cautious about meds triggering my arrhythmias. This one seems fine. Being a belt and braces kind of person I also asked the chemist about it and he confirmed what my GP had said.

My GP said it is a second generation antihistamine and an improved drug.

My asthma nurse suggested cetirizine after checking with the doctor. I take Apixaban and diltiazem (CCB).

Cetirizine is what I have been given by the GP.You should still be able to find certain branded items at the chemists abroad.

Piriton variants and Allacan are both branded versions of Cetirizine.
