Bisoporol and heart beat

Mine drops in that range every day too. My doctor said unless it happens when I’m awake and active and I have symptoms with it, not to be concerned. If no symptoms, the heart is working as efficiently as it needs.
I am on 5mg a day and HR rarely gets to 60s. Not uncommon I don’t think. Nothing to worry yourself about
Hi. I had a triple heart bypass over a year ago and I take 2.5 biso in the evening and my heart rate drops into the low 40s at times. I mentioned this to the cardiologist and he told me " don't worry about it, you have new arteries". So that has been ongoing for nearly 2 years now.But biso stops my heart rate from going too high when I have an episode.
So I tolerate the low heart rates.
I know it can be worrying at times.
That's the dose I'm on and have been for a while. My heart rate is also low 50's. I mention it to my Arrythmia nurses and Cardiologist each time I speak to them, and they are not unduly concerned. I am told it's not about rate, but how you feel, and I feel pretty good.
During the last 15 years I have moved through a range of beta blockers, Bisoprolol 5mg; Nebivolol 5mg and now Sotalol 40mg, morning and another 40mg in evening. I tend to agree, its all about how you feel and what you were previously ... "in the good old days when you were younger and fitter".
For me, as a human body, reasonably fit, I always functioned best in all my daily endeavours when my resting HR was around 72 to 76 bpm. I had a bad time when first put on Bisoprolol, it took some fine tuning, time of day when I gobbed the stuff. Often, more likely as not my resting HR would drop down to the range 44 bpm to 55 bpm. Being a 6 footer and weighing in at around 14 stone this HR would just about wipe me out. 72 to 76 was brilliant.
Sorry to be difficult but your medical team don't know what they are talking about ....... HR and how you feel are inextricably linked. So, in your case a rate of low 50's leaving you feeling so good obviously suits you - if I had that I'd feel as if I had one foot in the grave.
