I looked at this post and decided to reply, looked and looked and couldn't fathom or remember how to do it, that's it I thought your mind has finally gone Jean. Then I scroll up and see that replies to the post have been stopped. Can't these posts be marked red somehow so that we instantly know it's not possible to reply to them.
Honestly, it distressed and confused me greatly.

I think that HU choose the colour for the blue replies turned off sign below the original post before the replies. There go to colour is blue.
Partly, I suppose because red can make people concerned and think that it's a post that you are being warned not to read at all, so people would miss out on things .
Red signs can be triggering for people with Health Anxiety as well.
I must admit I've done it myself occasionally, I've realised now if you don't see the "reply " tab next to all of the other replies to double check at the top.
Wish I'd known about that. As I grow older my dread would be to end up with something like Alzheimer's and when I've been answering posts quite happily for years and then suddenly can't see the 'reply' button, I think it's my minds fault for not being able to recall how to reply and I'm losing it! Thankfully, it's not very often that we have a post turned off from receiving replies. The general set up of a normal post has lots of blue, so I don't think that's a colour that will immediately alert a reader.
I hate the way a poorly designed page can make it feel like it’s our fault or something the matter with our brains! Nothing wrong with yours Jean. Very stressful though. I’m glad you’ve clocked it up so the rest of us can be alert to it. Thank you.
don't we have the right to decide for ourselves? I am very fascinated by people's experience and what they have done holistically, after all we aren't just a heart or a liver we are all of the organs. Recently it is even being discovered we are our microbiome.
Admin explain why comments to this particular post were shut off at the end of the comment section. It seems that all that's needed for comments to be blocked are several reports.
So basically if you're in a debate with someone & they're putting across a better or popular argument, all we need to do is report their comments to admin to shut down & prevent any further debate, I really hope that's not the case because "Spitting the dummy out" comes to mind!
However, we are still able to like the comments so I've made a point of liking those that I agree with.
Quite understandable, at close to 81 I too worry about my memory and when something like that happens it shakes ones confidence. The fact that I can still do everything on my computer and have learned more besides comforts me so when something goes wrong or is out of place if I can't 'fix' or 'grasp' it I worry, like this morning when I couldn't get on line.......did all the normal checks and got it working again, phew lol. I pride myself on my computer skills so yes side with Jeannie, please make it more noticeable and easy to see......now where are they??????
Mmmm. ...censorship again. I didn't read all the replies, so action may be justified, but what concerns me every time is that someone thinks they can take the censorship decision for me closing open debate.
It's a strange feeling when something doesn't go how we have come to expect. As I have got older, the feeling can be quite weird and not pleasant. Your post brought that to mind.
I thought it was me Steve and that I'd actually forgotten how to reply to a post. It was a dreadfully scary moment I had to say the least. Then to discover that the ability to reply to the post had been turned off. I hadn't noticed the text saying that's what had happened. I feel when a post is shut down by admin it should be a lot clearer than it is right now.
The rush of fear is very unpleasant. Everywhere we turn these days, the media is reminding us of what horrors might lie ahead. If it’s not dementia it’s cancer. I’m fed up with it and actively avoid giving to any charity that does it. Give us some peace, is my plea.
