I had a PF Ablation four weeks ago and until yesterday have felt very well .Yesterday I did a bit more exercise , longer dog walk etc and in the afternoon started with bad chest pain .
The pain has continued during the night and still there this morning.
My heartbeat is strong and regular and blood pressure normal
Should I be worried or does this often happen ?
It's a bit scarey !

ANY chest pain of difficulty breathing must be investigated. At this time frame I would say this is snot normal but pleae read out fact sheet on recovery.
Get this checked as the symptoms have continued.Hopefully, it is just that you've done a bit too much , too quickly and things will return to normal with relaxation and a return to a slower daily pace.
Even if you need some assistance on this occasion with a pill it won't necessarily mean you will have to return to using regular medication or that the ablation wasn't successful .
Hi Summerlily. I know how you feel. I had some chest pain (under my breast bone ) after my ablation last March and like you, was worrying about it. The arrhythmia nurse reassured me that it's not uncommon and it did pass after a few days. Definitely talk to your GP just to be sure.
I took it very easy after my ablation.Probably not doing more than 15- 20 mins outdoor walk at 4 weeks.6 or 7 weeks for a mile.I had a lot of pain front to back at 4 to 6 weeks .I looked at anatomy pics & probably at the area that had been burned.i.e where lungs met the heart.
Not spreading to arms whole of chest or throat.
Arrythmia nurses said normal and to take painkillers regularly. But do contact GP to be checked.
Hopefully you will find it worth it.I am now 1 month off 2 years NSR.
