Hello everyone, I have PAF and stills desease. (auto immune desease) I was wondering what strong pain tablets people take on here as I am unable to take anti inflammatory tables as I am on anticoagulants and bisoprolol.
I currently take tramadol and paracetamol which does work .

l was told that l could take co-codamol or paracetamol whilst taking anticoagulant, You can purchase these over the counter, but need to ask the pharmacist if it is ok for you. Tramadol is a very strong painkiller. l think the next one up is morphine, so if it works l would carry on. The pharmacist is the best person to ask about drugs. These restrictions are difficult when you are in pain, so hope you get some relief and help.
If Tramadol and Paracetamol are working for you , and the combination is fine with your other medications, I'd stick with that.Although some people take Codeine based medications they can cause rebound pain even after a few doses.
Are you looking for a medication to replace Tramadol , which is a pretty strong pain medication.
If you take that daily, and have done for sometime, you would have to slowly taper off it or you could have withdrawal effects.
Your GP would suggest a medication which is an alternative to Tramadol, that could be another SNRI medication .
But, with the combination of medication you have been taking for pain , and depending on what pain you are trying to treat , you would be better discussing this with your GP in a phone or face to face appointment rather than just getting an over the counter medication that may not suit you needs.
I do occasionally receive Tramadol when I have bouts of Pancreatitis but chose not to take it as a daily pain medication as soon as I could replace it for my other pain conditions.
I take tramadol try not to be schedule with it or it won’t work as well. I thought it wasn’t working, but then I realized if I lay down after taking it, I can the difference within the hour and I can also tell when it is wearing off allow yourself at least a half hour for it to kick in
