booked in with Professor Schilling tomorrow. Nervous and anxious at the procedure despite reading the provided docs and other peoples comments. Just hope it goes well and I’m back home recovering tomorrow night

Abalation Tomorrow
Hi Tom.
You'll be fine so panic not. I look forward to reading up on how you got on. I bet it's not half as bad as you think it will be 😉
Paul
Best wishes for tomorrow Tom, you're having one of the top EP's. Afterwards you will wonder why you worried about having an ablation. I think it's natural to be anxious and torture yourself wondering if you're doing the right thing right up to actually having the procedure. You will be fine.
Jean
Lucky you. Richard Schilling is one of the top EPs in UK and trained many new EPs over the years so you are in the best hands.
Just make sure you rest properly and follow the guidance in our fact sheet on recovery.
Hi Tom. I had an ablation back in 2022. I had it with local anaesthetic [I believe some are performed under general anaesthetic]. It was totally pain free and only had some discomfort when EP was removing catheter from my groin. You then lie flat for several hours then you can get up and about. I wish you well and a speedy recovery tomorrow.
Hi dogsNW.
I had a catheter fitted for a few days when I was last in hospital. I always dreaded having one but I didn't even know when they put it in or took it out. I didn't feel a thing. It was nice not having to get up a 3 am to go to the loo for a wee!

You are in the hands of the man we all wish would be ours. I'm sure all will be well. Xx
