hi does anyone know if it is safe to take urgent-c with apixiban? It’s an immune support with 1000mg vitamin C. I think Vit C thins blood too?

The best person to ask is your pharmacist who knows all about interactions of various medications and any supplements you take.

Yes, l always ask the Pharmacist and it’s usually “no,” but then l am on Warfarin. I don’t think you have the same restrictions with Apixaban, but still ask. It’s a large dose and l always go by “everything in moderation,” especially with AF.

Apixaban, and all the other anticoagulants, do not thin the blood. They all delay coagulation.

I take prescribed Calceos, which are vitamin C and D3 supplements. Rach tablet contains 1250mg of calcium carbonate, equivalent to 500mg of calcium elemental), and have 2 a day. It's prescribed by my GPs to help strengthen my bones, after a dexa scan showed they needed strengthening. It has no effect on my AF.

Ask your pharmacist.

That's a very expensive supplement. I hope it proves beneficial.

I take 1000 mg vit C a day and Apixaban with no problems. Always have for 9 years. I'm 80 now.

All the best.
