what a day and a night it has been. After having a wonderful bank holiday Monday and posting not a twitch in my heart all day and night everything changed the next day. Yesterday AF started in the morning on for ten minutes off for an hour. On for ten minutes off for twenty and so the day went on like this. Went to bed at 10pm in sinus but feeling exhausted. I have a constant dull ache in my heart which I don’t know if it’s normal to feel that post ablation or not. At 11.30 last night AF kicked in again and wouldn’t stop causing me to feel like I couldn’t breathe properly. At 01.50 I took 100 flecanide and by 02.50 it stopped and I finally got some sleep on four pillows. This morning all is ok with no AF but lots of ectopics making me feel lousy. Prior to ablation my PAF was one a month with high heart rate for the first four months of this year. Prior to that it was none for around five or six years. This is daily but with a lower normal heart rate which I have never experienced before and is so debilitating. I can literally watch my heart quiver I feel like the ablation has made me so much worse with higher burden of ectopics and daily episodes since the first week of my ablation of AF. The three month blanking period feels like it is taking forever to end. What can I do to help this heal?

Take it easy, rest plenty and be patient. If you have shortness of breath and chest pain best speak to your arrhythmia nurse.
Thank you Bob. I’m going to e mail them this morning with my watch ecg,s.
Good luck! I hope it settles down soon for you…
Rather than PIP, ask about going on daily flecainide during blanking. This is a very common strategy post ablation to help keep things calm while the heart heals. I was on daily Flecainde for for three months post ablation.

Saw Gp who sent me to hospital. Had x Ray ecg and bloods. All ok. Arranging a 72 hour monitor so that they can see the arrhythmia and arrange medication based on results.
Glad things are being monitored and let us know how things work out. And don't hesitate to bring up daily Flecainide during blanking if they don't. Sometimes we have to be our own advocates and doctors are often too busy to give us the attention we need. In answer to your other question, my ablation worked out well and haven't had an afib episode in a year now.

thank you. I will
