Have you tried spas or hot springs to calm your heart?

This last year I have been swimming almost every day. After swimming I feel so relaxed and wonderful. With my work schedule I can only go to the pool in the evening, so I found a way to replace the pool in the morning with a carbon dioxide head bath. You can either make sparkling water with a soda stream machine or by mixing baking soda with ascorbic or citrus acid. Important to not make it too bubbly as it could trigger heavy breathing (only about 2 tbs of each). It takes only about 5 minutes and makes me feel more alert, focused and relaxed. Of course talk to your doctor if you have any health concern,

I'll take your word for this. My husband would be most concerned if he found me with my head in a bowl with a straw coming out of my mouth 🤔😅( maybe when he's not around......)

Well, whatevers going on it's not the body absorbing CO2. The body pretty much continually discharges CO2 through the skin outwards, it doesn't take it in. I'm not saying this doesn't make you feel good, but that may be all it's doing.

Not for me! I think regular breathing exercises work best, for me within Tai Chi exerises.

Health Warning for those who may unknowingly be CO2 retainers!

I was told never to have a sauna or Turkish Bath.

Hello Tapanac, that doe not make you sweat. It basically gets you more carbon dioxide in your body which helps dilate the blood vessels and circulate the blood. Saunas can be dangerous especially if you have an infection, I experienced that with a hot bath when I was having covid. The CO2 head bath is more like swimming.
