I started this meds about six weeks ago and I do not know if it is this medication or not but my fingers get cold and some of them turn white and I have to run hot water on them! The finger nails look a little purple when I get cold! Has anyone else have had this problem taken Nebivolol? This meds has been the best as far as side effects goes! Other beta blockers has made me dizzy and not sleeping well! Thank you!

Nebivolol 5mg
Not had any such problems in the three years I've been taking it.
In many folk those who take beta blockers can have this side effect. I had almost identical when I started Bisoprolol (same family of drugs as Nebivolol ).... and nose bleeds too. Often I'd go to bed with a hot water bottle, gloves and socks on and an electric blanket to. I stayed with the drug, eventually all this disappeared and I remained on it for 14 years. Then my GP changed it to Nebivolol and I had no such side effects. I have since consulted a cardiac consultant over other heart issues and he has switched me to Sotalol. No sweat.
I was originally prescribed beta blockers for taking in the morning - after I switched to taking them at night ............. never a problem since. If you take the drug in the morning you may wish to consult your GP or Pharmacist about taking at night.

I had exactly the same problem with Nebivalol. Even in summer my fingers would go white. I was switched to Bisoprolol.
Wife was on Bisoprolol, and now on Nebivolol 7.5mg. No such experience.
The sounds like Raynaud's phenomenon, a condition in which the toes and fingers can feel cold, and turn white. My son and wife get this. In your husband's case it s drug-induced. There's plenty about this with beta-blockers on the internet. Apparently there are beta receptors in various places in the body apart from the heart and a few people react like this.
I take bisoprolol and my fingers are unaffected, but I have had cold toes in the evenings since increasing my dose of bisoprolol to 2.5mg a while back and, even though I reduced back to 1.25mg four days' ago. It sounds a small thing but it is uncomfortable.
I think it is important to have your husband's doctor look at his fingers and advise what to do as it seems that reduced blood flow can, in a very few extreme cases, be a serious matter.

it is a side effect of some beta blockers, as others have said. I got this exact same symptom with propanelol and I had to wear socks to bed as I was shivering so much. I don’t get it with Bisoprolol.
Yes had the same reaction Dr. blew me off on it. Felt like a 50 pound weight on my chest. So I asked for a reduced amount, still felt horrible. Weaned myself off.
Currently I take nothing in the way of Pharmaceuticals. But I do attempt a healthy lifestyle. Listen to my body, do muscle testing on myself and take supplements the help with blood viscosity like Nattokinasse (sp?) I use a product from World Nuritritian called Nattovita along with a strong proteolytic enzyme that eats up unwanted protein. I stay away from fish oil supplements, which I learned actually put me in AFib. I don't fully understand the connection regarding that except maybe they aren't as pure or don't contain a full spectrum of what we would get with eating the fish itself.
I recently posted on how I didn't have an episode for over a year and then I took 1 fish oil capsule and about 6 hours later I had 2 back to back episodes of AF. I one again stopped taking the fish oil and no AF. A lot has to do with our nervous systems which I am sure mine is not in balance.
We hear all the time stress is a killer. I have recently come to realize we tend to stress ourselves and allow others to also add to it like well meaning family and friends. It has taken many years to learn what I need for my body. We stress ourselves by not eating right for ourselves everyone has to figure that out for themselves. No need to go on I think you get the picture and I suspect we all deal with way more stress than we need to.
