Could neuropathy be a side effect of amiodoran?
I read that Flecainide can cause neuropathy.

Neuropathy is a not uncommon effect of Amioderone. You should be seen by your physician to make sure you are not having any more serious effects from the drug and perhaps consider alternatives. Best etheral
PN a slowly degenerative condition that increases after 60 years of age. I have it. It started with hot feet many years ago. I think some drugs can bring it on but it would be difficult to associate it with the drugs, I suspect since stopping them won’t necessarily, I gather, stop the neuropathy.
What symptoms are you experiencing?
Steve
The symptoms are dizziness, swaying unsteady gait, weakness in the leg muscles, tingling in the soles of the feet.
Last year I was taking amiodoran, on September 15 I stopped it, and the same symptoms disappeared in about a month.
This year I am on amiodoran again, and again the same symptoms.
That's why I'm looking to see if there is a connection between amiodoran and neuropathy.
What are your symptoms?
I’d say that you’ve proved that there is. Poor you. And you’re getting it badly. I’ve had flare ups approaching that but not that bad.
Amiodarone is said to be a safe drug in low dose (there’s a great study on that if you search), but you seem to have issues with it - sc several here have also reported. Oh dear.
There are alternative drugs but when I had atrial flutter in 2019, I was told that, aside from bisoprolol and digoxin (which I was taking), that was the only one that would have been safe for me.

I am experiencing the same symptoms minus the dizziness. My numbness is in my toes. I was hospitalized on 5/18 for AFib where I was cardio inverted with IV amiodarone. Discharged on 5/20 and immediately felt the heavy legs. It has been one month and I've made small improvement in my legs. I can walk for a short bursts around my house but then it's back to my couch. I know it has a long half live and takes it's time leaving your system. Peripheral neuropathy is indeed a side effect, along with gait ataxia.
