Hi I have PAF and started getting this weird fizzing sensation in heart I’m assuming, it’s left side of chest. Anyone else experience this or know what bit might be?? Thanks 😊

fizzing feeling in my left chest area
Hi Contact1. Yes I’ve had a fizzy feeling left chest when I was in persistent AFib. It was one of those more obscure symptoms that only occurred occasionally and I put down to something gut related or neurological or an electrical dysfunction going on as part of the Afib or all of them. It never lasted long. If it did I would call my GP or cardio team. There may be a psychological aspect to it too and when I think about it I get a kind of fizziness right now in my shoulders and stomach muscles. Hope you get a better explanation than I’m able to give!
Only a thought. When Atrial Flutter first hit me I found it hard to describe ie it was (to me) like two electrical wires trying to arc/a buzzing/fizzing etc. So basically you have to try to take your pulse and if its 'Flutter', it will be unlikely that you can count it.
I got a buzzing or as you describe fizzing feeling up to a year after cardioversion
I seem to recall reading that the nerve supply to the heart itself doesn't include nerves that produce sensations we can feel, so whatever we do feel is from other nerves in the chest. This means that odd sensations are possible. What has your doctor said about his?
Steve
I get uncomfortable feelings in the area across my left breast which I associate with my post herpetic neuralgia (after shingles), so it might be worth considering nerve aggravation in your medical investigations, as Ppiman suggested.
What do you mean by "fizzing"? I ask because it occasionally feels like my heart (or area around my heart) is vibrating or buzzing. Is that what you feel?
