I have searched through the posts about bigeminy and many of them are quite old. I recently had a successful ablation for atrial tachycardia, but now have most incessant atrial bigeminy. There seems to be some varied research out now about atrial bigeminy causing cardiomyopathy. Beta Blockers don't seem to help. Anyone else out there have bigeminy more of the day than NSR? What does your EP/Cardio recommend? I am getting another 48 hr monitor and maybe Verapamil. Its quite upsetting. I'm thankful to be rid of the SVT, but this is also not fun...

Atrial Bigeminy
I had a much more complex (two three four etc up to eleven and start again) period of several months following my third ablation but it respnded well to the slow deep diaphragmic breathing trick (less than six breath a minute for at least five minutes) and eventually went completely.
oh goodness Megan, I am sorry to hear that. Hopefully it will settle for you as it is early days since your ablation. I have had some very minor runs of atrial bigeminyand they are very unpleasant. It must be awful for you.
Well, you’ve had the ablation and still have lots of atrial ectopic beats. You know I get them aplenty. It’s a devil of a thing to cope with and at your age especially.
I live with the placating thought that my elderly friend has had permanent AF for many years and has reached the grand age of 90 and still copies rather well.

Thanks all. It IS a relief to have the SVT gone, but having the bigeminy in its place is still frustrating. I suspect the bigeminy may have been setting off the SVT.
