Maybe some of you have noticed my posts re increasing ectopics.These have really started affecting my quality of life so did an excellent sheet to Arrythmia nurses & forwarded ecgs.Result is to stop my Diltiazem.
Have any of you experienced bad withdrawal symptoms.
I was taking 180 mg slow release.

180mgs was too much on introduction.
Settled on 120mgs moderate release AM but it does not with my slow Night H/Rate of 47avg.
At a guess after Day H.Rate of 156 brought downto 60s, my H/Rate would shoot back up.
My 120mg has animportant role to play and that is controlling my H/Rate Day.
The low dose of BB Bisoprolol 2.5mg PM controls my BP.

I stopped and next day I started another beta blocker! Talk to your doctor! It worked out for me but I had to start another new one!
Thankyou for your reply.I cannot tolerate beta blockers.I am in NSR as regards AFib but the burden of ectopics is dibilitating so the Arrythmia has suggested we stop the Diltiazem,monitor BP and increase my BP medication if need be.I just wondered if anyone had experienced any withdrawal symptoms.So I guess being an AFib group Maybe no one has.
I did not but I took for only a few days because it made me dizzy and felt hot! I also have a hard time with beta blockers but the last three week now I am taking Nebivolol and no dizzness thank God!
I stopped diltiazem the day before my ablation. Did not experience any withdrawal that I recognized. I had some ectopics, but the doctor attributed that to the ablation.
