Some people do, I certainly did - but then I had to stop cold turkey which is not advisable.

Positive approach - hopefully you won’t suffer any withdrawal symptoms.

CDreamer is exactly right . Some people can just stop cold turkey with no ill effects . Then there is a whole spectrum of severity of withdrawal effects from mild to severe let’s hope you are one of the lucky ones . Assume that you are until proven otherwise

Fingers crossed, and I wasn’t on a high dose to start off with! Thank you x

There is a previous thread on this, search Bisoprolol withdrawal symptoms. I read it a few days ago. I had recently increased my Flecainaide & Bisoprolol, now reduced it back. The bisoprolol causes me bradycardia, muscle aches, dreams and etc.

Thank you, I will have a look. Am working on the belief that because I was on a low dose to start with, I should be fine 😂🥰 x

If it helps at all Tilly I was told by my cardio to just stop - there and then. Like you I was concerned about any side effects.

I felt fine and no side effects at all. It sounds like they are just reducing your dose rather than 'cold turkey'.

For me personally I was fine - I'm sure you will be too.

Hope that helps.

I started off on 2.5mg Bisoprolol which totally wiped me out. I reduced to 1.25mg and had no side effects other than becoming slightly less wiped out. We are all different and the only way you will know for sure is to reduce and see if all is OK. Best wishes.

I had problems when I stopped beta blockers suddenly. I was given bad advice. For some reason some cardiologists deny that beta blockers cannot be stopped suddenly, despite the manufacturers advising against this. I ended up in A &E with a pulse which was so strong that my heart was leaping about in my ribcage and making me twitch so I couldn't sleep for 3 days. So reduce the dose slowly and ignore any doctor who tells you otherwise, and that's from the A&E consultant!
