I wasn't told that I can't take them at the same time. I currently take propafenone and apixaban. Anyway, while I was also taking bisoprolol, I would take them one hour apart. I have alarms set on my mobile. It's a bit of a hassle but I would take all three of them with one hour difference, but honestly I don't think it would make any difference if I took them all at once. Maybe it would make some stomach issues, and that's probably the only reason why I decided to take everything separatley. But I really hope when I do the final post ablation check up in 2 months, that they will say to stop my meds.

Bisoprolol ‘may’ increase the serum levels, doesn’t mean it will. Some people will metabolise drugs very differently so the bioavailability in the body at any one time will vary from person to person. I know it is quite scary if taking anticoagulants for the first time but many of us here have been taking anticoagulants and Apixaban in particular for many years without consequences.

Bisoprolol is not a drug I would ever want to take again because of other affects but Apixaban I have absolutely no concerns about. There are well thought out safety margins for these drugs before they would pass National Drug Agency safety controls.

What did you find wrong with Bisoporol. I have been on 2.5mg for 10 years following a heart attack and stent fitted. But in October it was raised to 10mg because of AF.

I wouldn’t even go there the list is so long but suffice to say I now have a red alert on my medical file to NEVER be given ever again.

I have been taking apixaban and bisoprolol at the same time every morning for over 4 years since my successful ablation with no issues. I find this convenient to do and it has never been suggested that I should take them at separate times for any reason. I have no idea of whether taking them at the same time has any effect on the efficacy of either drug. I was given the option to stop taking apixaban after the success of my ablation, but after discussion with my GP I concluded that the benefits of continuing to take it outweighed the benefits of stopping the drug, given a family history of strokes. I am on 7.5mg of bisoprolol.
