I have been well and truly supported by you all as I approach my catheter ablation scheduled for tomorrow in Glenfield Hospital.Having made several posts to gain reassurance I will be going ahead although I am still very scared and fragile.

I will let you all know in due course (hopefully) and thank you again from the bottom of my ♥️

You’ll wonder what all the fuss was about I promise you. I would not have an ablation, no one was going to fiddle with my heart.

Eventually a pacemaker and an AV node ablation and I wonder what I was thinking off.

Hi Karen, I had my ablation this morning. All fine, feeling quite a bit of chest discomfort but like me, Im sure you'll find the whole experience much less traumatic than you imagine it will be. Good luck!

That is what it feels like! Much like a really bad bout of indigestion! And as usual, the medics and nurses are so kind and I was looked after magnificently 😀 I think laying flat for 3 hours was honestly the worse bit. Hope you're ok this morning and look forward to hearing that your experience was ok too.

Hi, nice to hear your experience. Thank you.It was uncomfortable for me. I couldn't have the usual painkillers because of the side effects on me so not sure what concoction I had. I know they gave me diazapam and I am told I had a fair amount of sedation, I am sure through the mask.

Anyway, 3 hours passed and I did feel the burns in fact one or two up the back of my neck.

I didn't feel well last night and have struggled to sleep with a headache, I also had flickering lights so think I had some kind of migraine.

It's almost 6.30am and I have given up trying to sleep.

Felt nauseous and agitated last night but ready for my breakfast this morning!

I had a general anaesthetic which seems like a better experience maybe?? Although, I do have a sore throat and my windpipe hurts. The pain in my chest is still there and like you I had little to no sleep last night because of the discomfort. But... day by day its sure to improve isn't it?!

Shame you maybe a bit of a rough time .It should be worth it.Take it easy.

When I had my ablation I even posted while sat waiting to go in for my ablation and got some replies.I felt as if I went in feeling as if I had someone holding my hand.Mind you after 6 months dithering I changed from worrying to being glad I was having sedation so I knew what was happening.curious about the procedure. I would rather have it again than the tooth extraction I had in December.
