I just began taking Xarelto, and I have an upcoming appointment with a chiropractor for a lower back issue. Do any of you see a chiropractor while taking Xarelto. I have a call in to my doctor, but wanted to hear if others are getting chiropractic care while on Xarelto for their personal experience.

I am only on apixaban at the moment and regularly visit a chiropractor for lower back and neck issues and have not had any problems. Best to ask your GP or pharmacist though as with it being a different medication there may be a different take on this.

I've been using Warfarin for years and more recently Edoxaban. I've had osteopathic and chiropractic treatment for lower back and Si joint issues all the time. No problems. No sweat !

Whichever route you chose to go down do remember to make a full disclosure of your health issues and treatment thereof, including a list of medication. You'll be fine ... and good luck with the treatment, personally, I've found osteopath treatment more successful of the two BUT then my joints are at times pretty jammed up and they need a bit more aggressive attention, currently am enjoying a relatively pain free spell from lower back and Si joint.
Thanks again! Yes, I called my chiropractor to let her know, and she said she has many patients on same meds and same issues, so I feel much better. I needed to look up osteopath to learn the difference from chiropractor. Sounds a lot like the way my chiropractor treats patients, which is the reason I chose her. I used to see a chiro regularly and never had any problems because of Apixaban but then chiro never caused any bleeds. An adjustment to mid thoracic region did put me into AF once, which was quickly reversed with another. After that they used only activator on me rather than manual adjustments and I had no further issues.
As a fellow AF-er and retired chiropractor of 40 years, don’t waste a moment of worry. Go and get your back feeling better.
Well before I had this heart condition I went to a chiropractor for lower back pain and after it had failed to help, I went to an Alexander Technique practitioner where I re learnt how to walk etc and it certainly worked for me. After an accidental fall some years back just two visits to a different Alexander Technique practitioner sorted out the problem which returned briefly. Hope things work out for you.

Well it has back pain wise but I still have the fatigue and the PAF but yesterday I forgot the first Flecainide of the day and my heart didn’t mind at all so I intend to ask if I can reduce the dose when/if I get to see the nice new doc at the surgery before she goes off on maternity leave!
Good luck! I have some questions for my cardiologist about my Flecainide too. Here's to hoping we both get it all dialed in so we can feel our best!
I’m now on Edoxaban having been switched from Xarelto and I am seeing a chiropractor. No problems encountered.

I’m on xarelto and visit my chiropractor regularly, not had any problems. Just keep her updated on my medication.
After taking Xarelto for around 3 weeks I experienced a bad reaction to it, made worse by the fact I didn't realise what was causing the dizziness and nausea. However I don't see a chiropractor so this information may not help you? Hope you find the answers you need.
I'm sorry you had a bad reaction to the Xarelto! I've only been using it for 3 days now. I was prescribed Flecainide along with the Xarelto. The first evening, I took both. Had a reaction of facial swelling the next morning. So, I tried just the Xarelto (no Flecainide) for the next few days, and haven't had a reaction. So, maybe the Flecainide caused the reaction, but not completely sure. I have an appointment with my cardiologist on Friday for more discussion on meds. I hope you are able to find a suitable replacement for the Xarelto.
By the way, what is Xarelto? I haven’t come across it before.
Xarelto is an anticoagulant. Prescribed to lower the risk of an A-Fib related stroke.
Hi, NHS guidance is not to use chiropractors and osteopaths if on blood thinners. All osteopaths I've tried for back pain refuse to do anything cos of blood thinners
Yes, I had read this too, which was the reason I posed the question. I spoke with my chiropractor and she said she has other patients on anticoagulants, but I am also checking with my cardiologist at my follow up appointment tomorrow. Then, I'll decide. Hi, I suppose one question might be if they know of dangers and carry on regardless, could you sue them for an unfortunate consequences.
Anyway, Xarelto is an anticoagulant. Prescribed to significantly lower the risk of an A-Fib related stroke.
