Hello you lovely people. Anyone that have read my previous posts knows I am a 73 year old lady and am in permanent AF. I have recently started suffering with what I think is arthritis in both knees. I have been loaned a bottle of CBD gel to put on at night . My neighbour raves about how good it is. My question to you is have any of you with AF tried medisinal CBD in any form and has it had any negative effects on AF. Thank you in advance for any replies.
CBD Gel: Hello you lovely people... - Atrial Fibrillati...
CBD Gel
Used drops for insomnia and no reaction. Didn't help insomnia either!lol 😁
Bob have you found anything that works for your insomnia? I've tried everything and am desperate for a good nights sleep.
I chose never to use it as it was a fools errand according to people I knew had used it on knees. If you have arthritis ( I had osteoarthritis in right knee ) the chances are - ultimately - you'll need surgery ! I was on Warfarin at the time I had my knee done ........... no worries. Best thing I ever did. No impact on AF either.
Hi Florence.
I've used it. Not the stuff you get from boots but a decent oil. Yes it can and does work.

no negative effects on my AF but no effects on my pains either. I do use ibuleve or Voltarol on my arthritis occasionally- pharmacy says ok as little absorbed beyond immediate area
I've lived with chronic pain for 30 years; multiple discs gone, spine slipped, spondylitis and spondilosis and arthritis in hips, knees and shoulders. I've tried every painkiller available and now up to the highest dose of oxycodone possible. My pain consultant had run out of options and the only thing left to him was CBD but because of my heart attack and arrhythmia he didn't dare prescribe it purely because not enough research has been done on its effect on the heart.
I have used drops and gel to hopefully help with chronic back and neck pain. I asked my pharmacist and he knew of a pharmacist in a local town that was studying CBD so I went there and started on low dose drops and gel and worked up to stronger. didn't affect my AF - in fact stayed in NSR most of the time as had my cardioversions aroud that time which kept me in NSR for about 3 out of 4 years. No reactions with other medications either but it didn't do anything for the pain. Always worth trying anything as it may work for you but ask your pharmacist about interactions.
I use magnesium cream on my knees. Its not perfect but it definitely helps and its good for my heart.
