Hi all . I've got to have an mri scan next week for a unrelated health issue .

Does anybody know if mri scanners can affect heart in any way ....?

Don't want to cause or trigger any af after my ablation

I’ve had MRI without incident. Only direct complication I know about is special care and advance notice is required if you have a pacemaker. I think stress is likely to be your worst enemy so allow yourself plenty of time, tell the team if you are anxious.

Have you had an MRI previously?

Good luck and hope all is well for you.

I've had a cardiac MRI (to look for potential damage from having Covid). What does that tell you!

no problems with afib/tachycardia and heart as such. The only time medics have to take special precautions is with pacemakers

Don’t worry, try to relax and I’m sure you will be fine. Think of something happy. The last time I was wrapping Christmas presents in my mind snd another thinking of dream holidays
