well took my flecinide this morning, felt realy tight, heart rate higher and blood pressure aswell , but bisop usualy sorts that out , but did not take this morning due to awful side effects , good news is no awful side effects as I have previously been having , I’m sure now it’s the bisop , but keep being told it’s not ? Will take bisop dose this evening before bed and hopeful no side effects tomorrow, will my evening dose cover me for the day tomorrow, I’m hopeful it will sort my higher heart rate and blood pressure for the day

Hi Prosecco.

First off I'm not a doctor. I will just talk about my personal take on these drugs. Flec can be very effective but it might take a few weeks for your body to adjust. What dose are you on? Normally they kick you off on 50 mg twice a day then up it 100 mg twice a day.

What's your Bis dose? I'll take a punt at 5 mg. Why not split it in half in the morning and half at night?

Good Luck

Paul

PS consult with your doctor before doing this

Hello I’ve been on these both for 13 yrs with no side effects but now getting awful ones I’m on 50mg flec twice aday and 2.5 bisop morning 1.25 evening , I can’t tolerate bisop , no more took flec by its self this morning and had no awful side effects ? The only thing is my heart rate was higher and stronger and blood pressure went up a bit , bisop stops this , so I’m trying a 2.5 bisop tonight with my flec , hoping no awful side effects , and no stronger heart beat tomorrow, I had it most of the day with extra beats

Hi Prosccco

I think you are on the right track. 2.5 mg bis and 50 mg of flec is highly unlikey to cause you a problem.

Anxiety might - kick it out of door right now.

Paul

Anxiety is a problem, but I’m gradually opening that door thanks for your reply

I found it was taking my drugs together at the same time that affected me, as I said before some do not marry by splitting them up you are giving the body time to ingest one at a time, if there continues to be a problem even though you have now split the timing then go back to your medic and respectfully suggest you now try an alternative to the Bisoporal, if thats the one causing the problem.

I think Paul is spot on with his Flecainide comments, don't know anything about Biso as don't take it.

I would just add anxiety is a tough one to crack and a slow road back. I had and I believe still have too much cortisol/anxiety after 11 years since the scary early days post diagnosis. I keep this under some control primarily by interesting volunteer work, new projects on my smallholding, prayer and getting closer to Nature; the latter two are effective because they transport you temporarily to a different world - hope that makes sense 🤔😁.

Hi, for Biso 5mg my GP suggested taking it at bedtime to reduce side effects, seemed to work for me.

My Cardiologist told me that Flecainide anda beta blocker must be taken together, best to check with your Doctor first. Good luck

Hello yes you can take beta blockers by them selves , but if you take flecinde then a beta blocker aswell , so I’ve got to do flec and propranolol tomorrow morning then evening , and take propranolol in afternoon if needed , realy hope I don’t feel like I have been on bisop and flec , took along time to get this beta blocker changed

I have had a terrible time, even with 1.25 of Bisprolol. What side effects were you having specifically?

Hello , I feel like I’m going to pass out , like I’m being poisoned, sometimes I feel like I need to walk fast or keep moving , don’t feel sick , but a realy strange feeling like life draining out of me

I felt much the same. I stopped taking it and feel better almost immediately. I couldn't handle it. Hang in there.
