Does anyone have a recommendation for travel insurance to the US that covers AF?
I have PAF and, luckily, the episodes are not severe and quite short so I've never required any emergency med care. However, my first episode was in the US at 2am on the trip last year (it's an annual business trip. ) It was pretty stressful, especially as I didn't know what was happening - the stress being compounded by the thought of a horrendous bill if I called 911. Thankfully, it passed after a few hours but this time I want to be better prepared.
Many thanks in advance.

I have just taken out insurance with All Clear , though to Europe not the US. The only thing they asked about the AF was had I been admitted as an emergency in the last 12 months . No. Was I on anti coagulant . Yes . And treatment . My case PIP. And it was £180 for top cover included being able to use private hospitals, repatriation, £millions in medical cover ( I hope I won’t need). If you do it over the phone it’s easy to get discount. on the quoted price That was annual cover
I used 'The Post Office' travel insurance for USA last year. Start typing paroxysmal at the prompt and PAF comes up. Like Peony4575 I was asked about hospitalisation, treatment , anti-coagulant. It cost £700 + for the top package. (The Co-op was a similar price.) USA is just horribly expensive - I've just taken out a Co-op top tier travel insurance for Europe and it cost £114. !! ( I also have asthma so that probably increases the price in my case). This was for single trip cover.
Hi Steve,I know it's been a while since your question about travel insurance and was just wondering what you ended up doing?
I recently took out annual travel cover for a trip to the caribbean, (probably even more expensive than the US?), included in with cover for travelling to most countries worldwide (inc US).
I ended up using a company called Avanti Travel Insurance, for myself with ablated AF and anticoagulant and also for my wife with medically controlled hypertension. They asked a multitude of questions before, like most I believe, offering a choice of three standards of cover, then also either including the pre-existing conditions or excluding.
I believe that the price I was quoted, (and eventually went with), makes this company worth a look.
I would be very interested to hear how you get/got on.
