The only thing in your body which pumps blood is your heart so your pulse rate which is the heart's action felt in your arteries should be the same. Caveat. There may be rare occasions when electrical activity in your heart may not match pulse rate.

Its the first time I've seen this helpful information re AF Buzby. It always seems such a tortuous route to find any info on this site.

Thanks for providing the link.

Hello Layla3

The pulse and heart rhythm are of the same, by checking your pulse is an indication of how your heart is pumping blood around your body. Therefore, monitoring your pulse regularly is important - for further information, please visit 'Know Your Pulse to Know Your Heart Rhythm - It could save your life! heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...

Yes, it is a bit clunky,

From any post, click on the “About” link at the top, then click on the afa.org link under Contact, then use the Menu button to open up all the links. I find going through Conditions then click on Atrial Fibrillation or Atrial Flutter has the most info but once you’re in there it’s easy to navigate.

Maybe I should put this on a post, I wish the AFA logo at the top of the forum was a link but it isn’t unfortunately.

Or you could just bookmark or save this link to favourites

Then use the Menu button

I just don't understand why something so important to people coming to this forum does not have a direct link at the side of the page. Thank you for the info, have tried it and fine.

They are most often the same, however it may be difficult when in fast afib to get an accurate reading at the pulse, nor is it always easy to tell by pulse alone, if you're in afib or having another arrhythmia.

For that, you would want a home ekg device like the Apple Watch or Kardia.
