I'm sorry, I've had a search and it looks like you have lost it. If you haven't shut down this forum window, try clicking on the back arrow, which is top left of this screen and see if that brings it back. Do it a few times if it doesn't appear. If you've shut the forum window down then I'm afraid you've lost the message you typed.

Have done the same thing myself more than once and it's so annoying.

Bless you, sorry you're feeling a little low.

When I feel a bit down I think how lucky I am. All we need in life is food warmth and water. I have all of those things, yes we have aches, pains and dodgy hearts, but people are dying from cancer, having limbs removed, suffering strokes.

How could I explain to someone living in a mud hut that I have so many rooms to live in and can be warm and dry whenever I want, not to mention the flushing toilet, shower, bath and a constant supply of clean water.

I must admit though that at the moment I'm a little stressed, because I'm having a minor skin cancer removed on the lower part of my left leg by plastic surgery next Tuesday. This will also involve a skin graft from the top of my leg. I have to sit still for several days afterwards - live on my own so it wont be easy. Luckily I have family near, but they all work. Have good friends and neighbours who will also help if I need them.

Fortunately my AF is no problem at all these days, even though I'm in it constantly. My heart rate is now usually between 60-90bpm. I will never forget the years when I had awful attacks, how scary they were and the days I'd end up being admitted to a hospital ward. So my heart goes out to anyone suffering like that now.

Take care.

Jean

Luludean,

Just a little tip for you .... when I post a long missive I type it as a draft offline ( Word or whatever program you use) - in the meantime I open up HU click on Write and open it up. Then I just copy and paste from Word (or whatever) and put it in the box for a post - tidy it up a bit, then click send. That way if you mess up you've still got the original saved. Hope that helps.

Hi Lovefrance, my long post to you evapporated !

I was interested in the mention of Dr Jais in Bordeaux, have you seen him ? I’ve had mitral valve repair and now persistent AF. Not seen a consultant here for 3 years . Also have Rheumatoid arthritis ( and other similar) but similar lack of support. It can be very depressing .

I spent 5 days with son and wife near Cannes, cold !!! But, sunny , I felt so good. Being with kind , fun people is a tonic!

They have been there for 20 years , used to work for European heqrt society, my daughter in law still does. They worry about me but are not fully aware of the situation here. They suggest I move to France, I do speak fluent French , was born there. It is tempting but too scary. They could move , znd I would be more alone. Other son lives in NZ, a doctor. It is beautiful but I couldn’t live there. Bureaucracy is much tighter and complicated in France than here, there many deterrants and I am probably too old . But on a rainy grey day ????it is tempting, did you get better medical treatment?

I am interested in why you seem to regret your move to France and, where you went. If it is a personal matter don’t answer , and, I apologise. Meilleurs voeux pour 2004! L

Hi Luludean.

No I have not seen Dr.Jais but he was recommended to me by this forum. I too had a mitral valve repair some years ago. I have always suffered with anxiety but on getting af some time later, it tipped me over the edge.My husband wanted to move here after retiring. The lifestyle is much better.but I feel out of my comfort zone, despite knowing I will get much better treatment here and seen much more quickly! We have had a holiday home here for seven years and so sold this and bought a house in a village location with all amenities.we have friends here and a good set up. It’s never too late to do things but this move was stressful. Of course as you say, it’s the age as well. We are in the Limousine ares, about four five mins. from Limoges. I need to have some counselling and get myself sorted out! Whereabouts are you in England? We lived in Norfolk.
