Hi,

Can't say anything about pain in left arm. Don't know.

The coldness .... yes ... I experienced this in my early days with AF. It can be ( and I was one of them ) in some people a side effect of the drug Bisoprolol. So I am wondering if this was one drug you have been prescribed.

I used to get extremely cold, fingers, tips of fingers, feet very cold, and often an overall feeling of coldness throughout the body and often the only way I could get this under control was to go to bed with an electric blanket on, or clutch a hot water bottle , then usually I'd fall asleep and about 4 hours later I'd wake up and I was fine.

That's my experience anyway. Wishing you good luck.

Hi kitenski,

Yes its a brill drug - once you master it ! 🙂 I persevered with it and it certainly helped me conquer my paroxysmal AF .... ultimately it served me from Jan 2010 to August 2023 when, because of unwelcome side effects I changed to Nebivolol.

cheers Ben, did you have cold extremities and did you solve that at all whilst on it?

Yes I did have to cold extremeties when I was on it BUT stayed on it and fought my way through these side effects and eventually it settled down and I had no more problems with it until August 2023 when mentally I felt like I was becoming like the Zombie from the Village of the Living Dead. Then I switched ( under Pharmacists advice ) to Nebivolol . Now no more problems.😊

Hi Jarvo

I used to feel really cold, then found out that I had an underactive thyroid and medication for this took that chilly feeling away. Have you had a blood test to get your thyroid checked?

Also a few Christmas's ago my daughter bought me an electric throw. My central heating comes on early morning and goes off at 10.15am, on again at 4pm in the afternoon and if I want to sit before then I just put it over me and switch it on. I'm soon turning the heat down. I would totally recommend one.

I never sleep on my left side when it bed as it kicks off my AF, it does for quite a few people. So don't sleep on that side is the simple answer, annoying isn't it when we cant do what we want.

Hope this helps.

Jean

The left arm leads to the heart more than the right. With PAF/AF better to sleep on your right. The blood my be restricting laying on left, HOWEVER YOU should go to Drs for checking!

Hi there.

I have been diagnosed with afib 40 days ago but remember being suddenly cold just after episodes of afib. Cold and exhausted even when my episodes where 45min max and never had amy other symptom during episodes other than fear, anxiety and uncomfortable feeling in my chest. Also at that time I was already on bosoprolol and propafenone. In a week or two those cold moments subsided.
