When I was first diagnosed with AF & Heart failure someone told me writing down my feelings may help so this poem is one of a few things I wrote.

Has anyone else done similar?

You've captured the frustration of it all. I often use slightly stronger language.🤭😉.

I think that writing down your feelings can help - not that I have managed to be as lyrical. I read a book about back pain, and one of the main things was ‘expressive writing’. I didn’t keep up with it, but I think it did start to help both the pain and the AFib.

Mainly in a sort of ‘better out than in’ way! I reckoned that I had been feeling quite angry about a few things relating the the AFib, and that it wasn’t really helping me.

I think you’ve captured it all so well Mollybobs, one thing you wrote specifically resonated with me ‘focus on the good, instead of the bad, to get back the life I once had’. True, I would think, for so many of us.

Great poignant poem Mollybobs, as we approach Christmas I can sense a competition developing between you and jeanjeannie and the good thing is that we all will be the winners!

Hi

Yes I encouraged folks to write a poem.

I think I got about 10 then so glad that you have surfaced and given us your feelings on paper.

Its 3.17am here so I'm not in the mood but looking forward we will see what tomorrow bring as busy busy today.

Thanx.

I never wrote anything down, but I have found that talking to other people lightened my emotional load. And of course writing on here.

Thanks for sharing your poem.

Daily journaling for me . Diagnosed 13 years ago . Now more like weekly. My mantra was out of my head off my heart (pun intended)

That is so good, Mollybobs! I have just had a pacemaker and thought my troubles were over- alas I am still out of breath, your poem says to concentrate on the good so here’s to those days!
