Ectopic beats almost 25% with much esophagus burn and some nausea.

Hi All,

I had a catheter Rf and balloon PVI ablation, both atria, in 2022 and have been pretty much afib free ever since. That said, I have been having PACs immediately after the ablation sometimes going up to 10% for a day or two. I was almost ectopics free for the last 4 months ( my personal record) , however.

For the last 3 days, I have nausea and burning throat/esophagus, and i have an ectopic beat after every 3-4 normal beats, almost 20-25% ectopics in total. And it never stops, making me feel as if my heart remodeled to smth and this is the new norm. I have the feeling that smth in my upper gi is triggering this new event but this is just a speculation. I have some headache and wake up with beats. I do not have a major GI issue other than duodenitis, which is way down. And I take omeprazole for that.

Before, I was given Flecainide as PiP for PACs, tried a few times, sometimes worked sometimes did not. On this curent occasion , i used Flec 2X 100mg for 2 days but it is not working and I still have this much ectopics.

Will try to consult w my EP but I was wondering what y’all think ?

Why so sudden after 4 months of silence and why this much?

And why the burning ? Is it the ectopics causing the burn or vice versa?

Note: My EP previously suggested a second ablation to relieve the PAC burden and that’s what I will follow in the long term, but I really need some ideas on the current episode.

It is always relieving to hear from this group. Thx.

They has to be very annoying… did you change anything in your diet? or look up side effects of anything your taking?

Look up potassium deficiency symptoms, I take blackmores PP-85 twice a day and Cabot health magnesium 3 times a day, has helped a lot with my AF and ectopics…

Chlorine in water sets me off, it’s a known thing….

Getting fresh air during sleep has helped me, I think anyone with AF should never live near a major road, as pollution has a very deteriorating effect on AF.

Look up Barbara O’Neill on water on YouTube, she has other ones on the heart from memory.

Wishing you the best of health 🙏

Thank you Hearthyhop. Heard many things about magnesium and potassium and sure all these life change matters you mention are very important. Did you check with your Dr taking magnesium-potassium supplements besides your arrhythmia medication ?

Magnesium will reduce the effectiveness of the metropolol I take, so slightly increase the dose, Australia has low magnesium soil… so not taking mag is not an option, no doctor will tell you that…and I have 20% faith in doctors, from my experience, I refused the V…. too, if I’d taken it, I’d be dead, ambo said that, the day I was in flutter for 50min, legs up the wall…. Talking to my parents at 6am thinking I was gonsky…

Anyone with AF should get a blood hemaview done, to establish toxin levels and mineral deficiencies, etc, was a big help.
