Overactive Bladder Syndrome

Bit strange to post this here but bear with me please.

It seems that many of the med's for OAB have a side effect of high heart rate. I've been diagnosed with Paroxysmal Tachycardia and am trying Tolterodine for my OAB (which increased my comfort level considerably) but have had to stop as my monthly PT episodes increased to daily.

Reading up about OAB med's it seems that they all have high heart rate as a side effect.

Just wondering if anyone else has been down this path and found a solution or compromise. At the moment it's looking like I'm going to have to live with my OAB.

Hi

My Urologist has just started me on a tiny med which relaxes the bladder.

I was only taking 1 pill to cover my overnight. Already I am finding that I get to toilet in time.

During working on elections I decided take 1 x12 hrly and it is great for when I am out.

Urologist is ringing me 24 October to have a chat about it.

The only thing it cant help when you have the fluey type cold and a cough or sneeze prevails that it will stop .... then.

I will talk to the urologist about this.

the med is

5mg SOLIFENACIN VIATRIS.

It relaxes the bladder.

Perhaps you might try this med.

Hi

No, nothing.

But I started this drug Vistas slowly at night only.

I won't have it at long periods. Especially if I'm not out.

In 2019 I was rushed to hospital via helicopter with Stroke and AF diagnosis. The AF was rapid and persistent. At the 4th day whilst undergoing a carotid arteries scan, the scanner saw a shadow on my thyroid. In Feb 2020 I underwent a thyroidectomy and 12 lymph nodes taken. 2 were infected. So just in time.

4 years anniversary post stroke since December 21 my AF is controlled with Diltiazem 120mg AM and BP by Bisoprolol 2.5 PM.

I can't feel my AF when controlled.

Uncontrolled and H/R day was on Metoprolol pauses during night 187 and changed to Bisoprolol 156, sweating profusely and had np energy. To controlled H/R day avge 88-96 to November 22 to now 690s Day and I always stay at 47 avge night.

cheers JOY. 74. (NZ)

I don't get AF or AT, just a random fast heartbeat with no abnormalities apparently, although i feel quite poorly. At least that's the current situation.

Tolterodine is something I was given but then had to stop for some reason with my cousin similarly. I think it was because of my (and his) prostate enlargement. I believe it’s an old fashioned drug with quite a range of potential side effects, some on the heart - but only in a few people.

My wife had been taking something similar but couldn’t cope with the dry mouth it caused and other side effects but she’s now been given a much newer and better drug called mirabegron. This is proving far better all round. It can increase blood pressure as a side effect which needs to be checked at the start of the course.

I used Uribel and it helped me, but it raised my heart rate so I stopped. EP said I shouldn't take it.
