IMHO 30 mins won't make any difference but three hours yes. Try to stay as close to every 12 hours as possible.
I’m not medically trained and you are doing the right thing by checking with the hospital. Generally, it shouldn’t be a problem if there is some minor changes in the times you take Apixaban. Personally, I would take it at 7.30 before you leave because your mind is likely to be active once you leave home and if you happen to forget to take it in all the cuffuffle, (not a medical term) they will cancel the procedure. Hope all goes well, it will all be over before you know it and please let us know how you get on……
I didn't take mine as I was told not to eat/drink after 7 am and mine was due at 8. I told everyone this before the procedure and they didn't seem bothered at all! But if I did it again I shall still tell them all!!
When I had my cardioversion, nobody seemed concerned about when or what I had eaten! It so happened I had a check up with the Cardiologist in the morning, and I was in AF (I didn't know). He asked me if I'd like a cardioversion, I replied since I'm here I might as well (his offices are in a hospital) - I was taken to the ward, and he came and carried out the procedure in the early afternoon. I was given a chicken sandwich afterwards !!!!!
I once spent a whole night in A&E because they couldn't cardiovert me coz I had eaten two biscuits!! So frustrating 😡 but better safe than sorry, I suppose
For my wife's cardioversion earlier this month she was told to take the anti-coagulants as prescribed including the day of the procedure. Any missed dosage within the last month would likely mean the procedure would be postponed.
So, as others have suggested, take them at 7:30 so you don't forget.
