Well, who was a silly boy then ........... me ! I take a range of meds, some in the morning and some in the evening. Yesterday, Saturday, I overslept (for once ) and threw myself into my day with much vigour, verve and gusto ... and forgot my morning meds. I take 2 BP specific meds in the morning ( Ramipril and Felodopine ). My evening meds include a NON SPECIFIC BP medication, Nebivolol but I didn't forget it.
The point is that 24 hrs after forgetting my two meds my BP had shot up to 161/94 ..... it would normally be around 134/80 first thing in the morning.
My point is that contrary to popular belief - my beta blocker has had absolutely no impact on assisting controlling my BP at all. The only meds that assist in BP control are BP specific meds, i.e. Ramipril and Felodopine. The beta blocker did however hold my HR nice n' steady at 66 bpm, pretty much as it always does, and as I was originally told is what it is designed to do.
So, I still doubt the claims that a beta blocker will contribute to controlling BP.
Just sayin' that's all.😱
