Hello everyone,
I promised an update on my second ablation and what appeared to be ablating pulmonary vein stenosis.
Good news, as least as far as I know. I talked with my local cardiologist (not my EP which isn't until January) and he says the cavotricuspid isthmus procedure (CTI in my report) was for my flutter. This is done in a narrower section of the vein so that may be part of the misunderstanding with my discharge doctor. My cardiologist says I do not have PVS. 😊 🙏
When I got my report I looked up CTI right away because that was new to me. I should have linked it to flutter but the report didn't clarify that. I was also pretty sure I had understood my discharge doctor correctly and got off on a PVS trail.
For anyone who wants to know more, here is an article. It's long, but even reading the first section is interesting. ahajournals.org/doi/full/10...
I'm in my second month post ablation and I'm doing pretty well. I think my bounce-back is a little slower and I have some lingering shortness of breath. My cardiologist fitted me with a 24-hour Holter but he hasn't called with any concerns. He has also ordered an echo a few months down the road but I think I'll check out okay.
Has anyone else had an ablation for flutter with the CTI procedure? Feel free to add your thoughts.
